Report Flood Damage

**************************************

It's Important to Report it NOW

McCulloch County residents who suffered damages and/or losses to their primary residence, their business or their agricultural property as a result of the July 4 rains and flood, are being encouraged to report those damages.

  • The American Red Cross is here to help people who may be experiencing major roadblocks to recovery after this disaster. Financial assistance is available to those who have qualifying damage.

The Red Cross has done damage assessment in partnership with state and county officials across the impacted areas. We are actively reaching out to specific individuals whose homes the Red Cross has confirmed were destroyed or sustained major structural damage. For some properties, we already have contact information and will send an invitation to enroll via email, text message, or phone call directly from the American Red Cross.

For others who we do not have contact information for, the Red Cross is encouraging people to visit redcross.org/gethelp to register online or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to provide the information needed to open a case and receive this help.

We are sharing this information with you for awareness so you can validate this as a legitimate program for your constituents who may call you with concerns about the text, email or phone calls they have received. We would also ask that you help amplify information on your social media channels about Red Cross financial assistance.

If we determine there are communities with known damage where we haven't received responses, we will collaborate with local community leaders and non-governmental organizations to conduct targeted outreach to help create equitable access to this program.

    Key Communication Points:

    • The Red Cross is reaching out to impacted households directly via email, text message, and phone calls. If we have contact information, individuals will receive these communications directly from the American Red Cross.
    • It’s essential for individuals to respond to the communication they receive in order to receive financial assistance. If they do not respond, they will not receive funding.
    • Emails will be sent from “American Red Cross” with the email address clientservices@rccare.redcross.org (this is a no-reply address, and individuals cannot send emails to this address). The text message number may vary.
    • For households that do not have contact information on file, we will send postcards with instructions to register at redcross.org/gethelp or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
    • We ask for your help in reinforcing that this is not spam and ensuring constituents understand the legitimacy of these messages. We encourage you to share this information via your social media channels.

Thank you for your continued support in getting the word out and ensuring that all those impacted have access to the resources they need. Please feel free to contact me via my cell anytime should you have any questions or needs.

  • DEAR CITIZENS,

Please be aware that due to restoration, preservation and indexing for our older vital statistics, criminal, and probate records the public will not be able to research data from January 20, 1998 - back.  The records will be out of office for approximately 2 to 3 months.  Therefore, title companies nor the public will not have the ability to do any research on probates.

If you would like a copy of a birth, death or marriage certificate or a probate record, please call us at 325-597-2400 (Ext. 2). Understand we will look up the information and call the restoration company to have a copy forwarded to us so that we can fulfill your request.  This will take a day or two to process.

    Thank you for your patience.
